Training Philosophy - The world of sports conditioning is filled with pseudo-scientific misconceptions. CycleSimulator is dedicated to the scientific foundations from the fields of exercise physiology, biomechanics, sports psychology and sports nutrition. We adhere to a strict regimen of data collection of physiological variables that helps us engineer a specific conditioning program for the individual athlete. To do this, we manufacture our own stationary cycle simulator (ergometer) that every athlete uses for both training and data collection. We collect and keep track of power samples that give us scientific feedback and tells us precisely how much the athlete is improving. Due to our meticulous collection of data, we are in a position to adjust the athletes training regularly and assure optimal training.

Data Collection - With any data collection, the researcher is concerned with three things. The data has to be valid, reliable and objective. The Cycle Simulator is the only device we are aware of that can measure the cyclist’s power in all three ways. Power cranks and power hubs cannot do this. There are way too many variables on the road and problems with data collection on a stationary trainer for these to be valid assessments. Our data collection is so precise that even small improvements in power can be measured.

Results - The CycleSimulator conditioning program is not new. It was passed down to CycleSimulator from one of the pioneers in the field of exercise physiology. National and state level athletes who have used this form of power training have seen improvements of one percent per week in power. One-percent improvement is quite substantial for an athlete at this level. Just think, one percent per week for eight weeks is eight percent. Where else can you find these kinds of results? In fact, who else collects data that is valid, reliable and objective enough to quantify improvements?
